Carissa carandas pickle (Karonda)

                                          CARISSA CARANDAS (KARONDA ) PICKLE





INGREDIENTS :

  • Karonda - 2 kg
  • Mustard oil - 1 kg
  • Salt - 2 and half  tablespoon 
  • Rock salt - 1 tablespoon 
  • Red chilli powder - 2 tablespoon 
  • Coriander powder - 2 tablespoon 
  • Cumin seed powder - 1/2 tablespoon 
  • Asafoetida - 10gm


HOW TO MAKE :

  •  Firstly, wash the Karonda properly and then let them dry. 
  • Once they are dried cut 1 and half kg  of karondas from middle and take out the seeds, and leave the remaining 1/2 kg as it is. 
  •  Now leave them once again to dry. Once they are dried fill them in a container and add 1 tablespoon salt and  close the container. 
  •  Keep the container as it is for 3 days(shake the container one or two times everyday without opening it). 
  •  On third day take out all the karonda's out for 2-3 hours. Keep in mind that dont throw the water that is remaining there in container. 
  •  Now add all other ingredients in kronda except oil and mix properly, add that container water also in it. 
  •  Now take a pan and add that oil in it, when the oil gets heated put off the flame and add asafoetida and karonda. 
  •  Now put them in an air tight container. You can eat it with anything.
