Fish curry
Ingredients:
Rohu- 750 gm
Chopped onion- 150gm
Chopped garlic- 20gm
Chopped ginger- 20gm
Fresh green peas(shelled)- 80gm
Chopped tomato- 200gm
Chopped potato- 150gm
Red chilli powder- 10gm
Coriander powder- 15gm
Cumin powder- 5gm
Mustard oil (for cooking)- 150ml
Turmeric powder- 10gm
Salt-to taste
Fresh coriander leaves to garnish
How to prepare :
Smear the fish with turmeric powder and keep aside.Now grind onion , ginger and garlic and make thick paste with the spices.Now take a pan and heat mustard oil in it .Now put the paste in it.Fry till the oil separates.Make sure to stir at regular intervals
so that it doesn't burn.Put in the piece of fish and mix well .Cook until the water released by the fish dries out. Now add peas ,tomatoes, potatoes, water and salt. Cover and cook the potatoes at low heat. Mash the potato and fish with the back of spatula(leave some un-mashed fish for more interesting texture).Serve hot with steamed rice.
